College of Public Programs
The College of Public Programs is a community of scholars dedicated to knowledge-based social and economic change. Educational and research programs span the fields of social work, public affairs, and community resources and development. The college has over 1,500 students in more than 30 undergraduate, graduate, professional degree, and certificate programs. Its graduates are leaders in industry, government, nonprofit organizations, and social service agencies.
As diverse as faculty and student interests and backgrounds are, all are bound together by a sense of urgency that the world—local and global—has the capacity for even greater prosperity, justice, and quality of life for all. The college has special interests and expertise in tourism, urban governance and management, urban growth and sustainability, nonprofit leadership and management, poverty and its consequences, and Latino issues.
School of Community Resources and Development
The faculty and academic programs in the School of Community Resources & Development are focused on generating knowledge and providing professional leadership preparation in the areas of tourism development, parks and recreation resources, and nonprofit leadership and management. Along with providing innovative academic programs and interdisciplinary research opportunities, the school is immersed in community-based programs, service and resources that contribute to sustainable, healthy, and livable communities. The school has garnered national recognition for its commitment to bettering the social, environmental, economic, and cultural well-being of our local and global communities.
