MTRC is currently developing barometers for all megapolitan regions which are aggregate measures of the health of each region's travel and tourism industry.

Sun Corridor - Arizona (PDF)

The Arizona Sun Corridor Tourism Barometer is developed at Arizona State University.  The Arizona Sun Corridor megapolitan area is the fastest growing of all megapolitan regions in the United States and one of only two that are entirely contained in one state. The Sun Corridor is defined to be the six counties: Maricopa, Pinal, Pima, Yavapai, Santa Cruz, and Cochise. The Sun Corridor includes approximately 1/5th of Arizona’s land mass but 80% of the population.

Southern California (Web Page)

The Southern California Tourism Barometer is a collaboration between Arizona State University and San Diego State University.  The Southern California megapolitan region includes eight counties: Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Ventura.

Northern California (Web Page)

The Northern California Tourism Barometer is a collaboration between Arizona State University and San Jose State University.  The Northern California megapolitan region includes parts of two states: California and Nevada and includes 21 counties in California: Alameda, Contra Costa, El Dorado, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba, and five counties in Nevavda: Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, and Washoe.

Las Vegas (Web Page)

The Las Vegas Tourism Barometer is developed at Arizona State University.  The Las Vegas megapolitan region includes two Nevada counties: Clark and Nye and one Arizona County: Mohave.
